Stainless steel hexagonal bolts, commonly referred to as hex bolts or hexagon head bolts, are widely used for fastening structural and mechanical components where corrosion resistance, durability, and reliable clamping force are required. The external hex head allows installation with standard wrenches or sockets, making them suitable for both industrial assembly and maintenance applications.

ZSD Screw manufactures stainless steel hexagonal bolts using controlled cold forging and precision thread rolling processes. By combining stable material sourcing with in-house production management and dimensional inspection, ZSD Screw supplies fasteners that comply with internationally recognized standards such as DIN 933, DIN 931, ISO 4017, and ISO 4014. Material properties and mechanical requirements follow stainless steel fastener specifications defined in ISO 3506, ensuring stable tensile performance and corrosion resistance in industrial environments.

Standard hex bolt dimensions are produced according to DIN, ISO and ASTM standards. Custom drawings and samples are accepted.

Strength Grades: Stainless steel hexagonal bolts are commonly supplied according to ISO 3506 with property classes including A2-50, A2-70, A2-80, A4-70 and A4-80. These grades define tensile strength and yield characteristics suitable for different load conditions. For comparison across fastening systems used in mechanical assemblies, carbon steel bolt strength grades such as 4.8, 8.8, 10.9, 12.9, 14.9 are also widely referenced under ISO 898-1. ZSD Screw maintains controlled production and mechanical property verification through hardness testing, dimensional inspection, and batch traceability to ensure stable performance.

Surface Treatment: Stainless steel bolts normally rely on the inherent corrosion resistance of chromium-nickel alloys and therefore typically do not require heavy coatings. However, the following finishing processes may be applied depending on application conditions:Passivation treatment (enhancing corrosion resistance) Electropolishing、Cleaning and oil protection、Special surface treatments or coatings can be provided based on environmental requirements.

Applications: In mechanical equipment manufacturing, stainless steel hexagonal bolts are widely used for assembling machine frames, transmission systems, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, and processing equipment where corrosion resistance and stable clamping force are required. Precision thread rolling and dimensional inspection help ensure consistent preload performance, supporting reliable operation of machinery under vibration and cyclic loads.

In electronic equipment and industrial electronics, stainless steel hex bolts are used in control cabinets, equipment housings, industrial enclosures, mounting brackets, and instrumentation structures. The corrosion resistance and dimensional stability of 304 and 316 stainless steel help maintain grounding reliability, structural alignment, and vibration resistance in precision electronic systems and automation equipment.

In the new energy sector, stainless steel hex bolts are commonly applied in photovoltaic mounting structures, solar panel frames, inverter support assemblies, battery rack systems, and energy storage equipment installations. These applications often operate in outdoor environments exposed to humidity, temperature variation, and atmospheric corrosion, making stainless steel materials suitable for long-term structural reliability.

In conventional and renewable power generation facilities, these bolts are used in turbine housings, generator assemblies, cooling systems, auxiliary equipment frames, and pipeline support structures. Stainless steel fasteners help provide corrosion resistance and structural stability in environments where moisture, temperature fluctuations, and continuous vibration may affect equipment operation.

In the automotive and transportation industries, stainless steel hex bolts are used in body assemblies, interior mounting structures, electrical system brackets, exhaust components, and auxiliary equipment supports. Reliable dimensional accuracy and stable material properties contribute to consistent assembly quality in vehicle manufacturing and transportation equipment maintenance.

In heavy industry and engineering equipment manufacturing, stainless steel hexagonal bolts are widely used in chemical processing equipment, marine installations, construction machinery components, and structural support systems exposed to corrosive environments. Applications such as offshore equipment, processing plants, and industrial infrastructure require durable fastening solutions capable of maintaining structural integrity under demanding operating conditions.

304-A2:  Moderate work hardening rate, suitable for general cold working and deep drawing processes. It has good cold workability and is widely used in the production of hexagon screws, nuts and washers.

316-A4: Added with molybdenum, it has stronger corrosion resistance than 304. It is especially suitable for applications in seawater and chemical media, with enhanced corrosion resistance and pitting resistance.

Notes:1. If the nickel content is lower than 8%, the minimum manganese content must be 5%.
2. When the nickel content is greater than 8%, there is no limit on the minimum copper content.
3. If the chromium content is lower than 17%, the minimum nickel content shall be 12%.
4. For austenitic stainless steel with a maximum carbon content of 0.03%, the maximum nitrogen content can reach 0.22%.
5. For products with larger diameters, to meet the specified mechanical properties, a higher carbon content may be specified in the manufacturer’s instructions; however, for martensitic steel, the carbon content shall not exceed 0.12%.
